ABOUT ME

Brynn Butzman, OTD, OTR/L

Growing up as a synchronized swimmer since the age of 8, I have always felt at home in the water. My swimming journey took me to national competitions, international competitions on the USA National Team, and ultimately led me to be a performer in Cirque du Soleil's world renowned show, "O," for over 12 years. After having two children of my own, my academic background in biology and interest in development, neuroanatomy, physiology, and child-based care led me to pursue a doctorate degree in Occupational Therapy at Touro University Nevada. It is there where my passion for all things aquatic and my love for children blossomed into this dream of bringing aquatic occupational therapy to Las Vegas.

Outside of the pool, I love being outdoors, cooking and spending time with my children, especially taking them to their swim lessons.

MY PHILOSOPHY

I believe in identifying a child's unique characteristics, personality, strengths, and limitations in order to connect with each child I work with. I use developmental markers to decide what to address in a meaningful and engaging manner. Repetition of fun and functional activities supports learning while the unique sensory qualities of the water promotes active participation. I believe in outcomes for families as a whole so I encourage parents to participate in their child's therapy. Focusing on areas such as motor development, sensory integration, social communication, and social skills, I aim to enhance every child's ability to participate in everyday activities.
